Pet comissions

From time to time I am asked to create an image of a pet for somebody. I find this process quite challenging due to pets having personalities and a bond with there owner that I can not always see. I try to spend time with the pet and owner to observe there connection when possible.

Tiggah cat painted with acrylic paint on 350gsm paper. This was my daughters childhood pet that died a few years ago. Tiggah had very judgemental eyes and I felt this was important to achieve in the painting to bring his personality through.

Bonnie. Due to a very short time frame to create this piece I chose pastels over paint. Once again I feel I have captured expression with the eyes which brings life to the image.
